Brunch and Brush Recap

A Rundown Of The Butler Brunch and Brush

On Sunday the 17th of November we hosted a creative morning with Sally Spratt from The Lust List

As part of the #ButlerInBloom campaign, we organised the ultimate brunch event that boasted delicious food, bottomless spritz & blossoming creativity.

The morning began with a wholesome brunch grazing station overlooking the spectacular view on our terrace. The brunch was prepared by our Head Chef, Amber Doig, and incorporated her delectable and creative Ibero-American flavours. Plates were piled with fresh fruit, jalapeño smashed avocado on sourdough, smoked salmon bagels, black bean bagels and granola pots.

Once guests had enjoyed their brunch, Sally gave an inspiring talk about where she came from and how she started her business. The idea of the Lust List was born from Sally painting things she wanted but couldn’t have and with push & support from her friends, Sally’s illustrations soon became an instagram sensation. She now works alongside an impressive range of brands that showcase her work. The moral of her story was all about taking a leap of faith and trusting in yourself and your abilities. A very inspiring and motivational way to start a Sunday morning!

At the conclusion of her speech, Sally invited guests inside and everyone took a seat in front of their artist work station. Each person received four A4 outlined drawings on watercolour paper, a three page instruction guide to help get started, a paintbrush, a watercolour palate and a mixing tray. Once everyone was settled, Sally went around to each table and offered tips and tricks to help guests create their masterpiece.

There was certainly a lot of natural creative talent in the room as we were blown away by how impressive all the paintings were. Everyone added their own creative flare to their watercolour and there were definitely a few wall-worthy pieces of art that came out of the morning!

Throughout Brunch & Brush, guests enjoyed bottomless Lillet spritz. With a choice between a classic Lillet Spritz or three Butler twists, there was one for every palate. A refreshing spritz is definitely our choice for hair of the dog on a Sunday morning and going by the consistently flowing drinks, we think our guests agreed.

It was such a wonderful morning and we would absolutely love to do it again. Let us know if you would love to see another Brunch & Brush with The Lust List pop up at The Butler!
